Arie Armand

Upon graduation from his undergraduate study in Universitas Padjajaran, Arie continued his studies at the Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, Indiana, USA. He now frequently advises international banks on how to structure their cross-border transactions particularly on offering of their securities and structured product in Indonesia. Arie is also the anchor partner of our firm for capital market and derivative transactions, two of the legal practice areas which he pioneered. He was actively involved in the development of the first multi project limited participation mutual fund (akin to offshore private equity fund) and successfully led teams of lawyers to assist in the US$700 million, the biggest so far, rights issue transaction in Indonesia.

Reflecting his ‘family man’ character through his work, he also believes that client-lawyer relations should not be shaped as a rigid professional relationships but rather as an approachable family-like connection. It comes as no surprise that Arie would invest time to get to know not only his client’s transactions but also their hobbies and personal interest.

Practicing his approach consistently, Arie has successfully maintained an extensive list of long-standing clients. His trustworthy character also allows him to develop expertise and experience in assisting lenders in debt restructuring of Indonesian conglomerates.
